Astronomy Programme Committee

Currently looking for student members for the academic year 25-26!

The Astronomy Programme Committee (PC) is a legally constituted part of every study programme in the Netherlands. The committee consists of both staff and student members. It is our responsibility to evaluate courses, collect feedback, and ensure high-quality education.

How do we do this?

We use two methods to collect your feedback. One of these is the feedback forms on Brightspace. These forms collect statistics and allow space for open comments. A summary of the responses is automatically generated and, along with the comments, shared with the PC and the course coordinator, who then writes a response to the feedback. We also use a paper evaluation form that is handed out during exams. The course coordinator collects these and passes them to the PC student members without reading them. From these forms, we create a summary. During a PC meeting, we review all the courses and consider both summaries and the coordinator's response to write concise feedback, along with a grade (A+/A/B/C). Both of these feedback methods are important to us, so please consider completing both. But also remember that a real person reads them. Being professional and constructive in your feedback helps us represent your concerns more effectively.

How can we help?

If you have any questions or issues with a course that relate to its quality, please contact us—we're always happy to help and quick to respond. We are always looking for different perspectives on the courses. Your privacy and safety are important to us, so we always anonymize your information and feedback!
